Why, oh why?

Why do you think anti-civil rights leftists always take the rare, but well publicized, (though usually poorly reported) tales of some poor deranged soul who goes crazy and kills family and/or friends, and immediately jump on the, "If we had more 'gun control' legislation, that wouldn't have happened." And then make with the ad hominum attacks and comparisons to all firearms owners.

What part of CRAZY don't they understand?

Oh, wait. This is the same bunch that thinks laws will keep firearms out of the hands of criminals.

Never mind.

You made a case over on my blog that you are a really decent guy. I believe you. I take you at your word. But, I don't agree with you about guns.

One of the worst features of guns, it does seem to me (a mere child of God struggling to comprehend my world) is how in a moment of weakness or anger or despair, people are able to go from being wonderful people like you into criminals and murderers. There is no return from that moment of madness or anger. There is no return to the world, no apology, no redemption in this life, no correction of the mistake.

That is difficult to understand, Bud. I guess we have to remember that even if we are children of God, we are still children of man. And sadly, children of man are capable of anything. Most of us try, some of us don't. Some succeed, some fail. I figured out a long time ago that hardly anything about life is fair, and sometimes redemption only comes in the next life.
